Now in it’s 5th year, the Mad March Hare is continuing to proudly support the work of Breakthrough Breast Cancer in Wiltshire.
Since our first event in 2008 we have raised over £42,000.
The Mad March Hare attracts serious runners and power walkers as well as being a fun event for all the family.
We encourage people of all ages and abilities to take up exercise, either walking, power walking or running - give it a try.
Mad March Hare is a great way to get started. All profits from the Mad March Hare go to Breakthrough Breast Cancer Wiltshire (charity number 1062636).
Much of the 5km and 10km routes take you through the beautiful surroundings of Lydiard Park in Swindon.
Over 600 walkers and runners were out in the spring sunshine on Sunday 25th March taking part in this year's Mad March Hare.
Families, serious runners and walkers, people in fancy dress and happy dogs enjoyed the 5km and 10km routes that took them through the very pretty Lydiard Park, Swindon. The Mayor of Swindon Ray Ballman sent everyone on their way after a fun Zumba warm-up. On reaching the finish everyone was awarded a medal and greeted warmly by Rex Barnett, Patron of Wiltshire Breakthrough Group. All those who took part, including volunteers were presented with a goody bag, even the dogs.
To date the annual event has raised over £42,000 and the organisers are hoping to hit £50,000 with the proceeds from this year's event.
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event especially, our volunteers who contributed to making the day a big success. The organising team would also like to thank our sponsors who's support allows us to commit more of our proceeds to the charity.
Thank you all, we look forward to welcoming you back in 2013.
