The 4th Mad March Hare took place on Sunday 27th March 2011 with 800 people taking part and over 70 volunteers helping out.
All the runners and walkers completed either a 5km or 10km route from Greendown School around the beautiful surroundings of Lydiard Park. This year there were more men, women and children taking part, dogs and their owners plus people in fancy dress including two ladies in clown costumes. There were also lots of people wearing bunny ears.
“It was a great occasion” said Mandy Martin of the Organising Team. “The atmosphere was amazing and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We hope they will spread the word and come back to take part and help out next year.”
The Organising Team would like to thank all the volunteers who did an amazing job and helped the event run smoothly plus Hender Corredor-Escalante and his Muevete Fitness team for his warm up routine at the start of the event.
In addition the Organising Team would also like to thanks their Sponsors and Media Supporters for their continued support: Les Slinn Personal Training, The Big Adventure Store, Acorn Press, Berry Davies, Next Generation Gym & Fitness Centre, Swindon Borough Council & Challenge Swindon, Swindon Advertiser, Link Magazine, It’s All About, The Handy Mag, BBC Wiltshire and 105.5.
