What is the Mad March Hare?

The Mad March Hare is an annual event raising money for Breakthrough Breat Cancer

How long have you been established?
Our first event was held in 2008

When is the 2012 event?

Sunday 25th March 2012

How can I enter?
The 2012 Mad March Hare will be open for entries from 1st October 2011 until all 1,000 places have been filled. If there are places still available you can register on the day; we had to turn down many people this year so secure your place early!

There are three ways to enter:-Online via our websiteDownload an entry form from our website and send it to usPick up an entry form locally and send it to us.

ENTRY FORMS WILL ONLY BE PROCESSED IF ACCOMPANIED BY PAYMENT IN FULL.

What distances are available?
• 5km
• 10km

What is the cost of the entry?
• Adults (age 15 plus) – the entry fee is £12.00
• Children (14 and under) – the entry fee is £6.00

What methods of payment do you accept?
For online entries we accept most debit & credit cards. For those downloading or picking up paper entry forms – we accept cash or cheques.

How old do you have to be?
5km – is open to all ages
10km – has a minimum age of 10 years
Note: all entrants aged 14 or under must be accompanied by an adult (18 or over)

I will be sending in my entry form – any tips?
Please post your entry form or hand deliver it to:

Postage – don’t forget to add the correct amount of postage.

Who should the cheques be made payable to?
All entry fees must be made payable to ‘Mad March Hare’.

Can I write a cheque on behalf of someone else?
Yes – we don’t mind who the cheque is from, as long as the entry form has been completed in full.

Can I send one cheque for multiple applications?
This is acceptable as long as it is clear which applications are covered by the cheque.

If you have not heard from us after 2 weeks of entering please contact us as we have had some applications go astray in the post in previous years.

Can I participate in a wheelchair?

You will be very welcome and we will make every effort to ensure you enjoy the event.

Can I bring my dog along?
We welcome dogs as long as they are kept on a lead and do not annoy other participants. There will be water provided for them at the water station and finish.

Can I walk with my child in a buggy?
We welcome buggies as long as they do not get in other participant’s way. We suggest you walk at the back of the field.

I have a disability – can I enter?
Disabled entrants are welcome to take part, although due to the nature of the course we ask you to contact us on info@madmarchhare.org.uk or 0845 680 8064 prior to completing an entry form. The route is not quite as accessible as we would like for some people.

Please be aware of the following:- 

 If a disabled entrant is successful in obtaining a place in the event, and requires assistance from another person, the assistant will also be guaranteed a place. Please note that those people assisting a disabled entrant, will also be required to pay the entry fee. The Mad March Hare Organising Team must be notified if there is a change in the person assisting the disabled entrant. Due to the nature of the event, we are unable to specify a particular starting poposition within the start line ups. Due consideration will be given in respect of Health and Safety and your enjoyment of the event.

Can I participate in a wheelchair?

You will be very welcome and we will make every effort to ensure you enjoy the event.

I ran/walked/volunteered before – do I get priority?

Does everyone who enters get a place?
NO – all places are on a first come first served basis. We have strict Health and Safety rules and are restricted in numbers - hence we cannot say yes to everybody, much as we would love to!

I have entered – now what?
Your entry form will be processed by the Organising Team. Following this you will receive either an email or telephone call confirming your place.

Event packs will be sent out from January 2012. Being mindful of environmental issues, these packs will be sent to the person whose address heads the application and will include items for all those named on that application.

 The Event Packs will include:-
• Event Number(s)
• Route Map(s)
• Sponsorship Form(s)
• Merchandise Form(s)
• Facilities Map(s)

If registering in 2011 please let us know if you have not received a pack by end January 2012.
