Where and when does it start and finish?

The event starts and finishes at Greendown Community School, Grange Park,
Swindon SN5 6HN.
The start times are:-
11:00am - 10km runners and walkers
11:20am – 5km runners and walkers
Please arrive in good time for the start of your event – the organising team will be there early.
Note: there will be a 10 minute warm up by Muevete Fitness immediately before the start of each event.

Will I be able to park easily?
We are expecting a large crowd so please arrive in good time. Alternatively please use public transport or ask someone to drop you at the venue or car share.
The car park will be continuously marshalled - and it will be busy!
If the car park is full you will be asked to park elsewhere.
Please also be aware that cars will be prevented from leaving the car park at certain times to allow participants to clear the start and finish area.

Will there be a safe store for personal belongings?
A supervised baggage store will be available in Greendown Community School. (see facilities map)

Will there be refreshments?
There will be a variety of hot and cold drinks and snacks on sale before and after the event in the cafe located in Greendown Community School.

What is the route?
The 5km and 10km routes are available to view on our website and a route map will be included in the Event Pack which will be sent to you prior to the event. Most of the route is within Lydiard Park.

Is the Mad March Hare a race and is it timed?

NO – we don't have a timing clock at the start or finish. Our aim is to provide an event that will be welcoming to all comers of all abilities from across the community.

We do attract some elite runners and some very fast power walkers who usually bring their own time pieces. However the majority of entrants are out to enjoy the exercise, have fun and raise valuable sponsorship for our chosen charity. If you really want to time yourself please bring your own watch.

Is there any recognition for being 1st across the finish line?
Everyone who crosses the finish line receives a medal, a goody bag and warm congratulations from supporters.

There will be media coverage before, during and after the event and interviews and photos will happen on the day.

Is merchandise available?
Mad March Hare merchandise available for sale:
T, Shirts, Caps, Pin Badges, Bags and Bunny Ears.

There are five ways to buy:-Online via our website and in conjunction with your online application Download a Merchandise Form from our website and send it to us by post Prior to the event, a Merchandise Form will be sent in your event pack On the day

FAQs about Fundraising

How much sponsorship do I have to raise?

We invite all entrants to consider gaining sponsorship to support our cause however it is not compulsory.

All sponsorship money raised from the Mad March Hare goes to our chosen charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer Wiltshire (charity number 1062636).

Do I have to send in my sponsor money before the event?

NO – if you collect any money now, by all means send it to us as cheques go out of date. We would like to receive your sponsorship money within a few months of completing the event, so we can announce the total amount raised for Breakthrough Breast Cancer Wiltshire (charity number 1062636) and thank everyone involved.

If you find it takes longer please don’t worry - send what you can now and the rest later. We will never turn money away!

Can you send me a Sponsor Form?
Everyone who takes part receives a Sponsorship Form in the Event Pack, which is sent out prior to the event.
